On-Site Manager (Word Processing Manager)
This position will be managing multiple shifts and will need to be flexible to both early and late hours
Summary: We are creating a legal document processing center in our Phoenix location. We will be supporting multiple clients in this location. We are looking for candidates with specific experience in legal document services including legal word-processing, proofreading and/or supervisory support.
Overview
Responsible for the management of Document Services which includes Word Processing, Proofreading and Desktop Publishing.
Description of position:
The manager oversees all word processing, proofreading and desktop publishing operations for the Document Services Center supervising approximately 40 professionals working in multiple locations, in a multiple shift environment. The manager will work closely with the other locations to coordinate and monitor quality of deliverables. The center manager develops: strategy and best practices around processes and service delivery.
Position Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day operations of the Document Service Center, ensuring that client expectations are met by monitoring quality and productivity. * Represent the department and build relationships with the client in all functions at all levels. * Analyze and develop service improvement in response to client satisfaction feedback. * Work closely with other Document Service Center managers, including London, Chennai and Manila, to support an integrated service delivery model.
Manage Center personnel, including the following:
* Hire and terminate according to and within the RRD guidelines. * Oversee management of personnel schedule. * Provide performance evaluations and counseling. * Insure that Center professionals receive appropriate training (skills and processes). * Provide strategic input and implement standards around process, deliverables and technology. * Insure that client service professionals are educated regarding appropriate processes. * Manage center budget including delivery of revenue target goals. * Travel may be needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Requirements:
* Significant leadership and management experience required. * A good understanding of general business operations. * Experience managing in a production environment with remote customers and/or teams is required. * Experience in a production environment within a legal environment. * Bachelor’s degree in a business related major. * Strong customer service and negotiation skills. * Able to manage priorities against tight deadlines. * Attention to detail and great follow-up skills essential. * Able to communicate professionally. * Able to resolve problems effectively and positively. * Team player with a positive attitude. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Excellent interpersonal skills. * Must be able to build credibility and collaborate with firm personnel at all levels. * Able to build strong, cohesive and high performing teams through effective skills in motivating and influencing others. * Able to analyze and summarize various performance metrics including, but not limited to, utilization and customer satisfaction reports for management review. * Advanced software knowledge should include Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
