DESCRIPTION
The Technical Analyst II develops and supports manufacturing system applications based on defined business requirements. Provides support for production systems, including troubleshooting and fixes. Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify requirements. May be expected to write documentation to describe program development. Participates in the testing process to ensure systems meet business requirements. May participate individually in implementing enhancements or as a part of a project team. Takes direction from Application Development Manager or Project Lead.
Primary Technical Analyst II responsibilities include:
1. Develop and support enterprise manufacturing applications using Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Basic, Visual Studio .NET and Powerbuilder technologies.
2. Create and alter database objects in SQL Server databases using Transact-SQL.
3. Identify performance bottlenecks and tune SQL queries on large SQL databases.
4. Write Transact-SQL code to migrate data within large SQL databases.
5. Monitor help desk queue and provide ongoing support and maintenance for installed applications per customer service level agreements. Provide 24 x 7 application support.
6. Transform business requirements into comprehensive solutions using the appropriate methods, tools and technologies.
7. Adhere to the defined software development life cycle process.
REQUIRED SKILLS
1. Experience developing large scale enterprise applications strongly preferred.
2. Must possess a thorough understanding of relational database fundamentals, including design, implementation, maintenance, and performance tuning.
3. Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle (requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, support). Ability to estimate application development tasks accurately a must.
4. Must be driven and eager, with an ability and willingness to learn and implement new technologies and software development techniques. Must be self-motivated, requiring little direction.
5. Development experience in the following areas strongly preferred: Microsoft Windows Services, Microsoft Reporting Services, ASP.NET, and XML.
6. Experience leading a technical team to quality, on-time completion of technical projects is a plus.
7. Experience with other manufacturing systems preferred with knowledge of printing industry a plus.
