DESCRIPTION
Moves material by hand from machinery or loads or to machinery. Moves material or finished product from presses and machines to pallets or from pallets to machines. Responsibilities
* Reads work order to determine which materials are to be moved. * Loads and unloads materials from pallets by hand. * Moves materials from storage or work sites to designated areas. * Attaches identification tags or labels to materials or marks information on containers. * May load trucks. * Stacks materials into bundles and bands bundles together. * Cleans work area, makes minor repairs, and otherwise assists the machine operators. * May operate industrial truck, print wheel, or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials. * May perform very basic clerical functions. * Assists with set up of equipment. * May lead or train other material handlers. * Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out - tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies. * Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned. * It is the responsibility of all Solution Delivery employees to follow the requirements of their documented process as defined in the ISO Quality Manual. *
The Utility person must be able to perform all jobs assigned in an efficient manner. Jobs include, but are not limited to, feeding, piling off, bundling, mail separation, bagging mail, mail routing, and other jobs of similar nature assigned by the supervisor or team leader.

Feed, jog, and/or bundle on Catalog Binding Line on a rotation basis
* 1. Feed, jog, and/or bundle on Catalog Binding Line, Saddle Stitcher and or/Specialty Line (rotation basis)-See Physical Demands Form #1. 1. Ability to lift 30 lb. stacks of signatures, up to three lifts per minute, into packers. 2. Ability to frequently pick up 30 lb. lifts of signatures from skid approximately two feet to five feet off the ground, spending 1/3 of lifting time lifting below the waist level. 3. Signatures can be jogged in groups that are two inches to six inches high. 4. Ability to fan and inspect “insert cards” and 15 lb. groups of signatures before feeding into Catalog Binding Line, Saddle Stitcher or Specialty Line. 5. Ability to lift 15 to 30 lb. bundles from a waist level conveyor, turn and place on pallet one foot to four feet off the floor repetitively at speeds from 15 bundles per minute to 30 bundles per minute, according to the line speed as required for production schedule. 6. Identify hubs for palletized mail flags, perform quality checks (trim, glue, stitches, wrap, etc) and know types of lumber and supplies used for palletized mail, bagged mail, and bulk. 7. Ability to occasionally thread and operate JP-40 Ovalstrapper, JP-80 Ovalstrapper, Mosca strapper, shrink wrap machine, Signode hand strapper, and Dynaric strapper. 8. Ability to prepare load flags and accurate counts per load. 9. Ability to place 18 to 37 (25 to 50 lb Plastic skids) and 18 to 37 (8 lb. Tops) per hour to be used for mail. 10. Ability to move skids. – See Details of Physical Activities Line 1 and 2. 11. Ability to move up to 55 loads in a 7.5 hr shift and up to 90 loads in an 11.5 hr shift with hand truck. 12. Ability to check with Catalog Binding Line Team Leader or Specialty Line Team Leader to ensure acceptable stock, reporting and not feeding unacceptable stock. 13. Ability to check for local mixes and inform Catalog Binding Line Team Leader or Specialty Line Team Leader of questionable loads. 14. Ability to climb 3 or four -foot ladder. 15. Ability to recover good signatures from the floor by climbing down a 3 or four -foot ladder then feeding signatures into packers. 16. Ability to sort pull-a-parts and bad stock during binding line down time and during production time as needed. 17. Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a bindery team and perform multiple functions to provide for a high level of productivity and customer satisfaction. 18. Ability to follow all PPE requirements
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
1. Ability to perform all housekeeping duties including, but not limited to, sweeping, cleaning feedboards, and picking up strapping. 2. Ability to be familiar with the types of supplies used. 3. Ability to perform relief duties when and where requested.
REQUIRED SKILLS
The ability to work in a team environment is required.
