DESCRIPTION
To develop innovative ideas or processes to increase productivity and quality and provide technical assistance to the plant which may include complex troubleshooting of equipment.
Responsibilities:
* Writes and implements PLC software equipment control systems.
* Coordinates special projects with line supervisors, production technicians, production crews, Engineering and Maintenance personnel and suppliers.
* Generate reports for management as required.
* Assists with breakdowns and overhauls.
* Assists with new equipment evaluations and installations.
* Coordinate spare parts, inventory items, set stocking levels and re-order points with Central Stores.
* Develop training programs and job aids for new equipment.
* May schedule preventative maintenance.
* Monitors the production floor to assess technical needs to departments.
* Evaluates, prepares, and conducts projects related to equipment within the plant.
* Provides technical training for apprentices.
* Performs administrative and record keeping responsibilities.
* Involved in troubleshooting equipment as needed.
* Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out - tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies.
* Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
