Reporting to the Director of Sales, this position is responsible for planning, recommending and implementing domestic and international strategic sales, marketing and agency related goals, measurements and directives for his/her region. This position is responsible to identify, analyze and recommend new and existing business opportunities, and promote the growth of key accounts and all agents. The candidate for this position manages multiple assignments simultaneously, has a knowledge and work experience of LTL and TL transportation, air transportation, international cargo, expedited services, logistics products, services and technologies and understands the resources required to ensure that the region’s goals and objectives are met. The person in this position must identify and resolve internal and external issues and maintain positive employee, customer and sales agent relations.
• Develop and expand a network of company owned and/or sales agent stations for expedited freight transportation within assigned region. . Planning, recommending and implementing domestic and international strategic sales, marketing and agency related goals, measurements and directives for his/her region. This position is responsible to identify, analyze and recommend new and existing business opportunities, and promote the growth of key accounts and all agents. • Develop and expand a nationwide network of independent commission sales representatives. • Responsible for the growth of key accounts including the definition, communications and implementation of efficient and cost effective operational and customer services. • Manages multiple assignments simultaneously applying a thorough knowledge of air transportation, international cargo, expedited services, logistics products, services and technologies. • Understands and effectively utilizes the resources required to ensure that the established objectives are met. • Provide directions and instructions to sales and work group as needed for success. • Provide oral and written presentations to senior leadership and external customers • May provide input on observable performance/behaviors on employees • Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS
College degree or equivalent experience to include both external sales and operations management in domestic or international logistics. . 10 years or more experience in LTL, air transportation, international cargo, expedited services or logistics. • Experience with TSA, IATA and FMC desired. • Demonstrated ability to develop and expand a transportation network • Candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills and must be able to effectively present and respond to questions from managers, agents, clients and co-workers. • Strong written and verbal communication skill required. Strong negotiation skills. . Candidate must be confident in his/her ability to develop and expand a regional network sales agent stations . Proficiency with MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
