DESCRIPTION
Read job layout, comprehend, and set up machine according to specifications. Maneuver mill rolls into position and onto machine, properly centering paper, adjusting tension and width as needed. Placing dies straight on magnetic cylinders and adjusting within plus or minus one thousandth of an inch.Adjusting ink towers and putting into registration according to specifications.Understand formulas and ratio to mix and match ink colors according to job specs.Perform quality inspections and report all discrepancies with materials, plates, dies, inks, etc., before proceeding with the job, to include written documentation. Inspect production as it runs making necessary adjustments while continuing to efficiently produce a quality product.Set and adjust sharp knives and perforated blades on machinery.Maintain the cleanliness of your assigned work area.Readying finished product for shipment, to include packaging, sealing and manually moving cartons to pallets.Maintain production records with the MIPS system and job jacket.Maintain safe working habits and report any unsafe conditions.Other related functions as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) preferred; industrial manufacturing environment experience preferred. Flexographic printing experience preferred. Mechanical ability to adjust, change, and operate Label Press equipment. Mathematical skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percentage, and units of measurement. Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety reports, operational and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to solve practical problems with minimal supervision and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
