DESCRIPTION
Install, modify, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and load new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment. Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Expert knowledge of operation, capabilities and limitations of electronic equipment and systems. Skill in applying this knowledge to understand new systems or complex systems that have frequent engineering changes to improvise alignment, repair, and operating procedures which will be efficient, complete, and compatible with available resources. Use ingenuity in the application of trade practices to solve operating and repair problems. Practical knowledge of electronic theory and design. Able to use theoretical concepts to devise solutions for operating or repair problems on systems in which novel engineering approaches have created unforeseen problems. Skill in interpreting electronics drawings, specifications, and schematics of complex operational systems. Skill in troubleshooting complex electronic systems that lack documentation. Knowledge and ability to anticipate and respond quickly to danger signs as they become evident through intricate warning systems to avoid loss of time and expensive equipment. Must have skill in the use of hand tools, power tools and test equipment needed to perform job effectively. Knowledge of electronics to electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, and transistors.
