DESCRIPTION

The Network Engineering Project Manager will, initiate, manage and lead information technology (IT) projects. This individual will primarily manage network technology focused projects that impact cross-functional aspects of the enterprise. The position will require functioning as a liaison between the business and IT to facilitate technology integration with different teams at all organizational levels globally. This individual must have a proven track record of compiling project schedules, identifying and mitigating risks, facilitating conflict resolution and clearly communicating effectively to project stakeholders through the project lifecycle. A strong background in network infrastructure technology deployment is essential to be successful in this position. This position will also require the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of current and emerging networking technologies, products and services to take RR Donnelley to the next level in meeting and advancing business and financial goals. There is a potential opportunity to move into a management role as a career path but project management is the focus of this position.

Responsibilities

* Identifies, plans, leads, and implements LAN, WAN, and Network Security infrastructure projects. Projects include coordinating the configuring, designing and troubleshooting multi-vendor network devices, cabling systems, intelligent hubs, bridges, switches, routers, firewalls, VPN (client & net-to-net), network acceleration devices and other network related instrumentation.
* Provides logistical support and project coordination to ensure timely installations of enterprise impacting system upgrades or acquisitions and deployment of new technology.
* Provides Problem Management coordination by interacting with network engineers as well as other technology support personnel to help solve enterprise level LAN, WAN and Internet problems.
* Creates implements and turns over enterprise network standards documentation to network operations.
* Partners with outside vendors to resolve problems or issues, as well as access products and service capabilities.
* Meets with clients to assess information technology needs and expectations, researches networking requirements, evaluates network technologies, hardware and software, and prepares detailed architectural and installation plans.
* Ensures LAN, WAN, and Internet infrastructure projects and services are aligned with that of corporate initiatives, including various other Infrastructure Groups, Application Groups, and IT Governance team.
* Prepares status reports and keeps management, clients and others informed of project status and any related issues.
* Run meetings, create and maintain timelines, and keep large, diverse groups informed of progress, threats and opportunities.

REQUIRED SKILLS

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
* Must have a minimum of 3+ years of Project Management experience and 5+ years experience in; Cisco Routing and switching, Network protocols and topologies; Network security and overall system integration. Global experience is a plus.
* Strong Project Management experience with leadership skills and capabilities is required. Must be a good communicator with the ability to inspire a common vision in a high paced, high pressure and relatively complex technical environment. PMP certification a plus.
* Highly motivated individual with strong analytical, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
* Must have demonstrates expertise, understanding, or knowledge in some of following:
* System analysis and design techniques.
* Technical architecture, current information systems supporting the enterprise.
* Functional analysis at the enterprise level
* Data analysis and modeling at the enterprise level
* Develop, compile and present complex technical documents.

* Must be able to consistently contribute effort, leadership, and creative thinking to solving complex and significant problems in a collaborative fashion. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work concurrently on multiple complex and sometimes ambiguous problems. Able to communicate complex concepts, problems and solutions clearly and effectively to all levels within the organization.
* Requires excellent communication skills with all levels of audience. Able to structure messages in keeping with listener’s experience, background and expectations.
* Able to determine the most appropriate medium when conveying information to large groups or to reinforce a message. Able to understand the impact of communications on the organization or customer, including any legal/regulatory implications.
* Experience with data communication carriers is a plus.
* Experience with IPT and Cloud technologies is a huge plus.
* Management/Supervisory experience is a plus.
