DESCRIPTION

Responsible for establishing and implementing quality assurance and compliance processes for the IT organization. Work closely with IT leaders to develop and implement an overall quality maturity roadmap and plan for each IT functional area. Works with development, testing and production teams to develop, publish and implement software quality assurance plans. Develop and execute formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications. Conduct test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation and test execution. Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status.

Responsibilities

* Participate with other quality assurance associates in quality assurance testing and analysis on more complex or large projects to ensure that the applications system functions properly and according to business requirements and end-user requirements.
* Participate in walkthrough meetings on the development of, or changes within software application systems. Develop test plans, conditions, and cases used in testing based on business requirements, technical specifications and/or product knowledge to ensure they function properly.
* Document any problems resulting from the testing of software. Ensures that all problems are communicated to members of the project team including Technical Analysts, Project Managers and/or quality assurance analysts. Update documentation when issues are resolved.
* Re-tests original problems after de-bugging to ensure software functions to specification.
* Develop and document testing procedures for application testing. Troubleshoot application issues.
* Participate in training classes to improve testing and business systems skills.
* Complies, communicates, and enforces standards wherever applicable in all assignments. Contribute in developing process improvements and sharing of process ideas.
* Understand the architecture of the system under test and able to perform triage and diagnosis of issues found during testing.
* Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

Bachelor degree in discipline related to functional work or role OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.

Able to demonstrate good problem-solving skills and appropriately apply proven solutions. Consistently deliver prescribed outcomes in a timely and accurate manner with appropriate guidance. Apply existing processes and procedures to solve problems and may receive guidance for problems that are non-routine.

Able to apply general functional computer knowledge in utilizing Microsoft Windows, MAC or other technical tools to complete work assignments. May require knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn specialized software related to the position.

Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. Able to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people (stake holders, developers, project/product managers) when completing work assignments. Able to define QA tasks at various levels of granularity.
